From Landfill To Stockley ParkDuring the last Century the land now occupied by Stockley Park fell into disrepair.
The extraction industries left large holes on the site whichwere eventually filled with domestic refuse resulting in polluted and hazardous soil.
In the early 1980’s the developers of StockleyPark approached Hillingdon Council with a masterplan to develop the entire site and in the mid 1980’s Prince Charles arrived by helicopter to officially open the site and a new chapter inthe history of Stockley Park.
Today the site boasts 30 major companies employing around 6,500 people, restaurants and winebar, a beauty salon, children’s nursery, aVirgin Active Gymnasium and an 18 hole golf club with clubhouse and restaurant.
On such a prestigious site, security remains a very high priority and Stockley Park Haywards Estate Management Ltd, provide a 24 hour, 365 days a year manned guarding service response across the entire site.
The manned service, which include regular foot and mobile patrols is backed by a REMAS CCTV network system linked to an on-site controlroom via a fibre network plus a vehicle number plate recognition system that monitors, records and controls vehicles entering the ‘Park’ via the alternative rear entrance road.
The camera system is strategically located on the road network around the ‘Park’ each camera being mounted on 6 or 9 meter poles and providing 360 degree high quality vision, day and night. The original 24 camera locations have been virtually doubled, providing total uninterrupted vision around the entire estate
The only exception to this is a 10 meter pole mounted dome camera that is located at the entrance/exit to the ‘Park’ and provides images of the adjacent roads and traffic. This information is particularly useful to employees leaving their offices who can adjust their journeys to suit the conditions.
The camera’s are VCL colour/mono, day/night models with 18:1zoom capability and auto-focus providing ease of operation and high speedresponse.
The REMAS control room has 6 off 17” TFT colour monitors and three operator control stations for use when the Park is operating at peak periods.
Crime levels at Stockley Park have been almost eradicated withthe combined manned guarding and REMAS CCTV surveillance system – this is suchan important prerequisite for companies considering Stockley Parkas a base for their Head Quarters, or alternatively the New Dawleywood site adjacent to the ‘Park’ where 5 prestigious buildings will shortly become available.
